Broker and rate negotiation

• Talk to brokers and shippers like a professional, because that's how you get treated like one back
• Negotiate rates, accessorials and load terms rather than accept the first number
• Double-check load details before anything gets booked
• Pull and review rate confirmations
• Keep the brokers who treat us well coming back

Driver and carrier coordination

• Pass along pickup and delivery instructions clearly, the first time
• Track where every driver and load actually is
• Handle appointment changes and whatever else comes up
• Keep carriers and brokers in the loop
• Flag delays, breakdowns, detention and anything else that needs attention fast

Load management and paperwork

• Track every load from the moment it books to the moment it delivers
• Collect PODs and whatever else the load needs
• Keep dispatch records accurate, not "close enough"
• Follow up on detention, layover, TONU and other accessorials, every time
• Close out completed loads properly in the system

What you need to bring

• Real experience dispatching trucks in the U.S., not just adjacent logistics work
• Comfortable running DAT day to day
• Know dry van, reefer, or similar equipment well enough to talk shop
• Solid grip on U.S. freight lanes and the language people in this industry actually use
• Have negotiated rates with brokers and won
• Communicate clearly and follow up without being chased
• Can keep several moving pieces organized without dropping any of them
• Comfortable working independently
• Fine working in Excel, Google Sheets, and whatever dispatch software we run

Nice to have

• Experience with a TMS
• Know your way around FMCSA and DOT requirements
• Understand hours of service and basic compliance
• Have onboarded carriers or verified brokers before
• Dealt with detention, layover, TONU and other accessorial claims
• Can look at freight rates and operating numbers and know what they're telling you
• Worked with small fleets or owner-operators

The kind of dispatcher we want

We want someone who thinks like they're running the operation, not just watching a board. Look at a truck sitting empty and ask where it is, where the driver needs to be next, what loads are actually available, what the real rate per mile looks like once deadhead is factored in, whether a reload is realistic, and whether that appointment time actually works.

If you're comfortable picking up the phone, negotiating hard, solving problems as they land on your desk, and owning a load from start to finish, that's the role.

Pay

Pay is competitive and comes with performance incentives on top. What you're offered will depend on how much U.S. dispatch experience you bring, how many trucks you can run on your own, and how those trucks perform once you're running them.
